2 Weeks in Europe Taught Me...

Here's a list of things, in no particular order, that I learned while in Europe this summer:

  • NYC drivers are nothing compared to drivers in Italy....those people are INSANE
  • Olive oil and bread is the best pre-dinner snack EVER
  • Bread for breakfast every day is enough to make you crazy
  • I need to learn another language (I can't tell you how difficult it was to communicate in countries where most people don't speak English....especially in Italy)
  • Romanians are known to be pickpockets (who knew?)
  • Old Gypsy ladies go HARD trying to get your money
  • People with body odor shouldn't even be allowed on the subway platform much less on the actual subway, or Metro if you like.
  • Snails are surprisingly tasty
  • Currency conversion is the devil
  • What looks like a sidewalk is actually a street; learned that the hard way....smh
  • Starbucks is literally EVERYWHERE
  • Europe has a totally different breed of homeless people (we saw a man with no arms O_O)
I'm sure there's lots of other things that I just can't think of at the moment. I may add to this in the future.

Updated: My Top 20 Travel Destinations

I'm sitting here bored as all hell so I decided to post a list of the top 20 places I want to travel to before I die. Originally it was gonna be 10 but there are too many and I keep adding more. In actuality it could easily be a top 50 but I'm trying to narrow it down. I'm fortunate enough to be able to cross some of them out but I'd love to go back. Here we go.....

  1. Spain!!!! (I've been to Madrid and Barcelona but would LOVE to go to Ibiza...and back to Madrid)
  2. Greece
  3. Italy (Went to Assisi, Florence, and Rome but would love Venice (April 2016 and Milan)
  4. Egypt
  5. France (visited Cannes, Nice and Monaco but I'd like to do traditional Paris...Finally made it to Paris in 2016)
  6. England
  7. Amsterdam
  8. Puerto Rico (I went to PR in March 2012 and had an AMAZING time!)
  9. Australia (thanks to my Australian "hubby" from spring break last year)
  10. Mexico (Memorial Day Weekend 2017 in Cancun)
  11. Morocco
  12. Israel
  13. Portugal
  14. South Africa
  15. Vegas (I've been DYING to go forever - Finally made it for a bachelorette party this past June)
  16. Canada
  17. US Virgin Islands
  18. India
  19. California (I've oddly never been to the West Coast...Made it to LA in 2017 but I'd love to go back to San Francisco and maybe San Diego one day)
  20. Germany (Does a layover in Germany count? Didn't seem like a friendly place tbh)
There's plenty more places I'd love to go but for now these are the main ones. Happy travels!

My EF College Break Experience

The purpose of this blog is simply to share my experience touring with the company EF College Break. Before and even after I signed up for my EF tour I did a lot of research and read a ton of customer reviews to get an idea of how legit they are and make sure it wasn't a scam. There were a number of things that I found questionable before the tour which had me a little hesitant. For example, it seemed as if most of the positive reviews for the company were from people who worked for them or had something to gain by promoting them (for example, campus managers for the company get a free trip if they get a certain number of people to sign up and use their promo code). However, I was reassured when I found out by pure chance that a good friend of mine had traveled with EF in high school and had a very good experience. After that I wasn't really worried about it being a scam job anymore.

Now on to what I did and didn't like while on the tour......

They have what they call 'optional excursions' during the tour. In lieu of free time you pay an extra fee to do something extra in the different countries (ie: Flamenco dancing, wine tasting, Monte Carlo night, a trip to Toledo, etc). My problem was that about 3 days before I was set to depart I got a call from EF saying 3 of the optionals I signed up for had been canceled....womp, womp. Naturally they were the ones I was most looking forward too--Rome cooking class, a side trip to Salamanca and a visit to the Monte-Carlo casino in Monaco. It pissed me off but hey, stuff happens. At the time I didn't know why but for two of the excursions not enough people had signed up and the Grand Prix was going on in Monaco at the time we were in France so the streets were blocked and the bus wouldn't have been able to drive us there.

The main thing I disliked on tour was the bus rides in between cities and countries. We had 8 and 10 hour days riding this big coach bus from Madrid to Barcelona to Cannes, etc. All together we spent over a day of our 15 day tour traveling. If I'm not mistaken there were two 10 hour days and two 8 hour days. 3-4 days if you count flying there and flying home. A lot of us felt it wasn't really fair to have travel time included as part of the days of our tour. The traveling also cut a lot of our time in certain cities like Cannes and Florence. We spent about 10 hours driving to France so it was evening when we got there (around 6-7p), then we had an outing the next day until 4p and the day after we were on the road again to Italy. The same thing happened in Florence. We were only there for two days and the majority of one was spent riding the bus there. I really felt cheated out of my time there (on the up side that's the perfect excuse to go back).

Another thing I didn't like was that I felt like I HAD to tip the bus driver and tour director. It's not that I really minded tipping them but I didn't like being told how much I should tip. We were told to tip the driver about 3-5 Euro per day of driving (at the end of the tour from France to Italy we had the same driver for everything). Then we were told to tip the tour director about 8-10 Euro per day of the tour. For 15 days that's 150 Euro. Umm, NOT gonna happen. As awesome as our tour director was (Marcello if you happen to go on an EF tour), there's no way I was giving him that much money.

Those are really the only negatives I have about EF and the tour itself. Overall I had a great time and would travel with them again. I'd also recommend them to others because the prices are pretty reasonable for what you get compared to other companies or planning a trip on your own (believe me I looked for cheaper before making a final decision). I felt there was a really good balance between the structured outings to museums, sites, etc and free time to do whatever you wanted. Honestly, you can do whatever you want on the tour just as long as you make it to the bus on time to go to the next city. Our tour director warned that in the past he's had to leave people behind who didn't make it to the bus on time. Can't say I blame him. There's no reason to throw the entire group off schedule just because a few people can't get out of bed.

Sorry this is kinda long but whatever. That's all for now. (Edited to add the video I made of my tour)

Disclaimer: This video was made prior to me having an iPhone and new digital camera....lol

Eurotrips and Such: Italy

The last stop on my little Eurotrip/tour was Italy. We went to Assisi, Pisa (where of course I did the cheesy tourist shot of myself holding up the leaning tower), Florence, a little town called San Gimignano for a wine tasting, the Vatican and ended things in Rome. Rome of course was the place with the crappiest hotel service known to man but I'll get into that later.

Pardon my tour director's feet....

To be honest, Italy was a bit of a let down for me. It's not that I didn't enjoy it but it just wasn't as enjoyable as I was expecting. For one thing, I had better Italian food in Spain than I did there which was really surprising. Also, I really enjoyed Florence but we didn't get to spend much time there. Only about a day and a half really, but on the plus side I learned how to tell real from fake leather (FYI: Florence is probably most known for their leather goods so it's a big deal and there's leather shops every 2 feet). Other than all the leather stuff I honestly don't remember what there was to see in Florence because we were there for such a short time. It was all a blur and the rain didn't help. I tried going to the Pantheon but I think it was closed. Unfortunate since we walked all the way there in the rain.On the other hand, there were some really nice views, especially at night by the water so that was cool. Other than that I really don't have much to say about Florence.

And then there was Rome. Of course we saw all of the traditional stuff: Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, Roman ruins, Circus Maximus (or what's left of it), the Spanish Steps and the Vatican which I know is technically another city but you get the idea. The Spanish steps at night were pretty cool because it was just a bunch of people out walking around having a good time and some playing guitar and singing songs. Trevi Fountain was also pretty cool to see at night but it's ridiculously crowded. I was most excited about seeing the Colosseum thanks to four years of Latin in high school. My teacher would be so proud. The ruins were actually pretty lame because it's basically a bunch of beat down rocks but hearing the history behind them was VERY cool.

The Colosseum

Trevi Fountain

While we were in Rome there was a huge parade going on and I have absolutely no idea what it was about but it had the streets shut down for hours. I also heard that the Today Show was at the Vatican the day we were there which is part of the reason we had to push back our time to visit. By the way, if you ever go to the Vatican museum and the Sistine Chapel, make reservations and arrive EARLY. The line to get inside was literally around the block. I think our tour director said something about it being a wait of an hour or more. I wouldn't be surprised if the wait to get in was a good 3-4 hours. No joke. Then they don't restrict the number of people they allow inside so it's VERY crowded and can be VERY hot. Some people in my group almost passed out so be sure to bring water if you go inside.

Now for the the worst hotel of life: Hotel San Guisto in Rome. Why do I hate it so much you ask? How about because our door wouldn't lock from the outside and the staff were completely rude and unhelpful in trying to fix it.When my roommate first got the key and went to our room she said there was someone in there trying to fix the door but they left. Then she went to the front desk but they weren't helpful. After that I went and some guy came up and did some little "trick" and the door locked from the outside. It only took about 10 minutes. I'm sorry but it should NOT take 10 minutes to lock or unlock a door from the outside. That's just ridiculous. Then they tried to make us seem like idiots for not catching on to the little trick of locking the door. I feel that they should have just given us a new room with a working door because it was unsafe to have our belongings in there when we were unable to lock the door. Of course that was too much to ask. It was just really frustrating to have to go through this entire process just to leave then go back into our room. I would NEVER stay there again and I would tell anyone else to avoid that place as well. Bastards.

That's all for now, hope I didn't forget anything. Happy travels!

Eurotrips and Such: France

Before I get started, I forgot to add in the 'Spain' post that I had to travel solo....in a way. 2 of my friends were supposed to go on this trip with me but one told me at the last minute she wasn't able to go because of financial issues and the other I haven't even heard from.

Now that we've got that out of the way, let me tell you about my time in France....

First off, we weren't there long enough which is the perfect excuse to go back someday. Half the time was spent on a bus driving from Spain to France so we didn't get there until around 7pm. Then the next day we had a day trip to a perfume factory and got back around 4pm but had to leave the next morning. Anyway, I really enjoyed what little time I spent in France. We didn't go the traditional route which is Paris, Eiffel Tower, etc. We were in the south of France in Cannes (you know, the place with the huge film festival) then spent a brief moment in Nice followed by a morning pit stop in Monaco on the way to Italy.

I wasn't there for long so I couldn't do much and therefore there's not much for me to talk about in this post. I will say that the beach (which was across the street from our hotel) was beautiful with CLEAN and clear water. Emphasis on the clean which is rare in American beaches. I tried French food and yes I mean snails. It wasn't the usual escargot because they didn't have it at this particular restaurant but it was some other snail. The waiter said the difference is that the snails we had live in a different part of the ocean or something like that. They were actually pretty good but fishy smelling so try to just eat it without smelling too hard.

In my opinion, one of the best parts of France (and the entire trip) was the hotel we stayed in. It was awesome because the rooms were really like little apartments. There was a kitchen area with a table & chairs, stove, sink, refrigerator, and the cabinets had full sets of dishes with silverware and everything. We were in a quad so there was one room with a big bed, another with bunk beds and a pull out couch. And the bathroom was clean which is always good. The pool at the hotel was also beautiful but we opted for the beach. If you ever go to Cannes be sure to stay at the Pierre & Vacances Cannes Beach @ 11, av Pierre Semard, Cannes la Bocca.

That's really all I have to say about France. I mean, it's the freaking French Riviera, what more do you want! Next up: Tales from Italy!

Eurotrips and Such: Spain

So as I said in my preview post, I recently returned from 2 weeks of touring in Europe. I went with a tour group of about 40 people to Spain, France and Italy. I haven't decided yet if I want to give the name of the tour group I went with. I'll know by the end of this post. I'm not sure how to go about this so I think I'll break it down by country and give you my highs and lows.

 Spain:
This was by far my favorite part of the trip which is good because that's what I was most looking forward to. We went to Madrid, Barcelona and a little town called Zaragoza. To be honest I thought I would like Barcelona the best but it was somewhat disappointing (largely because of the hotel location). Madrid however was a very pleasant surprise. The good thing about Madrid was that our hotel was in a very good location with tons of little shops and restaurants all around. It was also walking distance to a lot of things like the Prado and Reina Sofia Museums. In fact, the Reina Sofia was located directly behind our hotel, all you had to do is walk out the back entrance and there it was.

Where the row boating took place at Retiro Park.

We were also very close to Retiro Park where we had a fun and interesting day of row boating, the mafia and bunnies. A crazy combination I know, maybe I should explain. The row boating is pretty self explanatory, you pay a few Euros and rent a boat for 45 minutes, nothing complicated. After the boats we went walking around the park and ran into an older (maybe 30s-40s) Spanish guy named 'Carlos' with a rabbit on a leash. Her name was Lolita. He pretty much showed/followed us around the park for the next few hours. The most interesting thing is that he barely spoke any English and we barely spoke any Spanish which was actually kinda fun. The good news is that he showed us a cheap place to eat and we found our way to another part of the park with a little lake with swans, turtles, frogs and a waterfall. While there we asked for a picture and he said he couldn't because he was in the mafia. Red flag much? Not that we ditched him right away. We saw some other tourists and offered to take pictures of them when they told us to ditch Carlos because he was probably a pick-pocket. Soon after that we ditched him when he told us to follow him through the park somewhere and we walked in the other direction. All in all, it was a good day.

Lolita
Barcelona was cool but I honestly liked Madrid better. For starters, we got upgraded to a 4 star hotel in BCN which sounds like a good thing but it turned out not to be. The only REALLY good thing about that hotel was that the breakfast was more like what we have in American hotels, ie. eggs, fruit, meats, etc. The other hotel breakfasts mainly consisted of bread in the form of croissants and pastries. My main issue is that this hotel was far away from everything, which was really annoying considering that our previous hotel was walking distance to everything thing. As if the 10 mile trek up the hill to the hotel wasn't bad enough, there was absolutely nothing fun or even remotely interesting to do nearby. Correction: There was ONE really good Italian restaurant down the hill with the best pizza I've ever had in my life. Otherwise that place was a bust.Other than that, La Rambla/Las Ramblas/La Ramblas or however you say it is a pretty cool little area. Lot's of shops, restaurants and bars. It's really busy and always full of people. I think the most interesting part was the big food market La Boqueria (I think). There's all kinds of animal parts, fruits and other food for sale in there. I recommend trying the coconut smoothie. Very good.

Smoothies in the food market, they have all kinds of flavors.
Of course no visit to Spain is complete without a little Sangria.....

Not sure why the pic came out weird after I rotated it...whatever.
If you're planning a trip to Spain, here are the places I recommend:

Madrid
-Retiro Park
-Royal Palace
-Gran Via
-Debod Temple
-Hotel Mediodia (nice central location in my opinion)
-Plaza Mayor

Barcelona
-La Ramblas
-The beach (obviously)
-La Boqueria

That's all for now, the next post will be about my brief encounter in France.

(ps: Hold tight to your purse, pick pockets are rampant in Spain and it's ALWAYS crowded as hell)

Preview Post: Back from Europe

I just got back from a 2 week tour of Europe so naturally I have to blog all about it. This is just a little pre-post before I get to the nitty gritty of my trip. I'll get into details about where I went, what I saw, what I thought was worth my cash and things I could have done without. You know, the good, bad and ugly of it all.

There's also the shitty hotel we stayed at in Rome but that alone could be an entire post. And yes, I WILL give the full name and address of the hotel and advise others NOT to waste their money there....bastards.

I also have a list of things I'm gonna include in a future post tentatively titled 'Things Europe Taught Me.' And of course I'll add some cool pictures and give a little dirt about some of the drama on the tour. The drunken hoe bag throwing herself-----well, I'll wait to tell you that later.

That's all for now. I'll be back soon!

My First Solo Mission???

My birthday is coming up in a few weeks (YAY!) and I really want to do something other than the usual. The usual being going to the local bar/nightclub that I've been to a million times already. After thinking on it a bit I decided that I really, REALLY want to go to Miami for by birthday. It's perfect because it's on a Thursday and I don't have class Friday so I could catch an early flight and spend the weekend.

Now the problem is finding people, or at least one person, to go with. A lot of people I know went to Miami over the last couple of weeks for spring break so that pretty much counts them out. If I had known I was gonna be sitting around my house unable to work because my manager never returned my calls I would have gone too but that's another story. I'm trying to get my friend to go because her birthday is the day after mine but I don't know if it's gonna happen.

All this is making me wonder if I should just go on my own. As scary of a thought as that is, I really want to go so I should. Why should a lack of a travel buddy stop me from doing what I want to do and going where I want to go? Especially on my birthday which should be all about me anyway. My main issue with going solo is that I'm worried I'll spend the whole trip by myself which is the last thing I want. My naturally quiet nature has me seriously doubting whether I'll be able to make friends to hang out and party with while I'm there.

If I go I plan on staying in this hostel I stayed at last year for spring break because it's a more social setting so that should make it easier to meet people. Plus there was a ton of people there who traveled alone so we'd be in the same boat. Right? Anyway, I guess I still have a little time to decide for sure.

I'm really not sure that I'm ready to (literally) fly solo but maybe it would be good for me to just jump in with both feet. You never know until you try right?

Deuces!

Time to Get Serious: Workout & Study Plan

I'm one of those people who keeps saying how much I need to start working out/going to the gym/etc but never actually get around to it. Or if I do get around to it it only lasts for a few weeks max. Eventually I'd really like to be one of those people who actually enjoys working out and looks forward to it. I really want to get into a regular workout routine now because I have a few trips coming up this summer and I want to be beach ready. My hope is that once I get into a routine I'll really stick with it this time.

There's a couple of routines I have in mind that seem like they could be fun, hold my interest, and not kill me. The first one is the Bar Method (or some variation). I kept seeing people on twitter talking about it so I did a little research and it looks like something I would enjoy. The other is Booty Ballet. Again, something I saw on twitter...lol. Then the most recent one I found is called Socasize, which looks the most fun. It's basically turning Soca dance moves into a workout. It's still pretty new but there is a DVD that you can order on the website.

Then there's the studying thing. I'll be done with nursing school pretty soon which means I'm gonna have to take the NCLEX to get my license. I really need to study and be prepared because I do NOT want to fail this test. They recommend doing 5000 practice questions prior to actually sitting for the exam. So crazy but it can only help right? The problem is that I have a really short attention span when studying and I get distracted really easily. Anyway, the point is that I need to come up with some kind of plan to get this stuff started so here's what I'm thinking:

Start Small - I'm gonna start working out and studying in small increments. I saw a video online called '8 minute Abs' so that might be a good place to start. Then for test questions maybe I'll start doing 10-15 a day then slowly build as the weeks progress.

Discipline - Another problem of mine is that I get lazy about tasks and I'll make up excuses not to do them or put them off. I could probably get a lot more done if I stopped that.

Don't Procrastinate - A HUGE problem I have is procrastination. It's like I'm physically incapable of not putting things off to the last minute. Something I really need to work on.

Stick With It - I really need to try to stick to the plan and goals that I set for myself. I usually start off strong but end up back in the same boat.

Wow, this post is a little on the long side...oh well! Anyway, this is the plan so hopefully I can stick to it this time. Wish me luck!

Bitches KILL Me!!!

So, my friends (and I use that word loosely) are on my damn nerves. We're supposed to be going on a trip to Europe next year but so far it looks like I'm going alone because I think I'm the only one who has actually booked the trip so far. First off, I already had to alter what I wanted to do to appease them which already pissed me off. I wanted to go on the 30 day tour but my one friend said she probably wouldn't be able to get a month off both of her jobs and the max she could do is about 2 weeks. Okay, as annoying as that is, I get it so I agreed to go on a 15 day tour so everyone is happy. I know it's gonna be fun no matter how long it is, but if I'm gonna go to Europe I want to go all out. *sigh* Maybe next time.

Once we all agreed I went ahead and put the down payment on my trip because there was a discount going on at the time and I wanted to make sure to get a few bucks off the trip. I could use that money to buy souvenirs or something. Now I'm starting to feel like they're backing out and they just don't want to tell me. I told my friend when I booked and all that good stuff but I haven't heard anything from either of them. I sent them a Facebook message asking if they booked and telling them that the prices go up next month but I haven't gotten a reply.WTF?!

So now I just have no idea what's going on and it's pissing me off. I need to just call these broads and ask them what they're doing because I have no clue. One thing I know is that I'm going. Whether they go or not at this point is just whatever, but I want to go and I'm going. And if they decide not to go I'm going with my original plan to go on the 30 day tour. Screw it!

ps: If anyone would like to help me fund my little trip I would REALLY appreciate it. So far I only put down the $150 down payment to hold my spot but I'm working on the rest. Every little bit helps so if you can there's a link on the right where you can "chip in." Thanks.

I've Been Slacking

I know I've been seriously slacking on my blog lately. To be honest I haven't had that much to talk about lately. Life is pretty dull right now. Things with "penis man" or sort of at a plateau so I'm not sure what to make of it. I already posted about the nonsense that is my roommate situation and I still don't have a job. I just don't get it, I mean besides the fact that I suck at job interviews there's really no reason for anyone not to hire me. I'm pretty good at this nursing thing, well student nursing but you know what I mean. Maybe if I didn't bomb my last interview someone might actually know that. Seriously, the lady asked me a question and I completely blanked out and was sitting there in dead silence for what felt like forever. FAIL!

Anyway, school is starting in a few weeks and since I'm gonna be a senior I need to make sure to do all that crap that looks good on a resume but I was too lazy to do for that past few years. Maybe I can take some kind of job interview course to work on my skills because I really suck at talking about myself. I should look into that. On the up side I'm trying to plan a month long trip to Europe with this group that does tours for next year as a graduation present. Yay me! That's all for now, peace out.

ps: I still don't have a new roommate....smfh

2nd Trip to Atlantic City

This trip to AC was sort of the opposite of the first one. This time around it started out great but the ending kind of sucked and the last time things started kind of sucky but ended up being fun. Just a friendly warning that this post is probably gonna be kinda long but there are some pretty pictures in it for you along the way.

This time around we caught the train to Jersey because my friend 'M' got some kind of hook-up through some guy she didn't really know for a free room. And so the trouble began. We waited around the lobby of the hotel for this guy who M had never actually met to come and sign us in for the room because she didn't know if it was reserved under his name or hers (it was under his). There were 4 of us girls and suddenly there were 4 of those guys too....that stench you smell is a set up. They offered to walk us to our room and carry our bags but unfortunately it didn't end there. Somehow they ended up making themselves annoyingly comfortable INSIDE our room. One dude had the nerve to stretch out on the bed and put his crusty sneakers on the comforter WE have to sleep on and talk on his cell phone. Really asshole? UGH!

The girls and I sat by the window trying to figure out subtle ways to get them to leave. Eventually we told them that my friend L needed to change clothes and they left. But not before pretending that they couldn't find the fourth room key. Umm, are you serious? You really thought we were gonna let you leave that room with one of the keys to our room?! FUCK OUTTA HERE!!! Not surprising after M told us that he asked the woman at the desk for 5 keys when there were only 4 of us staying in the room. Fuckery I tell you. SMH

View from the window in our room.

So once we ditched those losers we decided to walk along the boardwalk to find some food which was great until the seagulls kept trying to attack us. There was one in particular that kept inching closer and closer to us when we were trying to eat. And they have a habit of flying uncomfortably close to your head. My friend L was literally a step away from being pooped on. I swear, had she been up a foot further it would've landed right on her head. Needless to say we ate indoors for the next meal. After that we went to this mall called the Pier and caught a water show which was pretty cool before heading to the liquor store. Did I mention those guys kept calling M trying to hook up and hang out with us during the day and at night? Eww, get lost.

This slice of pizza was bigger than my head...truly

This was in the liquor store...very cool if you ask me.

Quick side note: How is it possible that they don't have fried dough in Atlantic City? None that I saw anyway. I swear these places either have funnel cake or fried dough but never both. Fried dough is so much better by the way. And did my friend L really ask 'what is fried dough'? Unreal...I can't.

Then came the magic dress incident. Have you all heard of this thing? The magic dress/skirt thing can be tied in all these different ways so that it ends up being a bunch of different dresses in one. It's actually pretty cool once you figure out how to tie it (I'm still working on it). All of us except J got one because she couldn't find a color she liked. Then on the way out we saw one on the mannequin at the door that we all loved. It was freaking perfect. At first we were all kind of playing around about who wants it or was anyone gonna switch, yadda yadda. Then it ended up being J and L trying to decide. Apparently J saw it first (according to M, I'm actually not sure) and since she didn't have one I figured it would be no big deal for her to have it. Then when no one staked claim L grabbed it and went to the cashier and switched for the one she had. J was pissed, obviously. L didn't really care too much.

This was from the water show at The Pier.

To top off the night we went to party at mur.mur in the Borgata (yay!). Now I know what mur.mur Mondays are all about. It was SO much fun. That is until M lost her phone. This may sound bad but I'm glad she lost it towards the end of the night because if she lost it earlier it would've ruined the fun completely. L, M and I spent our last half our or so staring at the floor looking for a phone. J had disappeared with some guy she met. I wonder how her boyfriend felt about that...hmm. Turns out she was just upstairs in the casino and he was unsuccessful in his attempts to get her to go back to his room but still. Anyway, we waited around for the club to close but they wouldn't allow us to go back in to look for the phone. After sitting there for who knows how long they told us we had to check with security in the morning to see if anyone turned it in. Fine, whatever. One thing that pissed me off was the fact that L and I seemed to be looking harder for M's phone than she was and then she had the nerve to catch an attitude talking about how it doesn't effect us the same and we don't understand because it's not our phone missing. Really? So why the fuck are we sitting around after the let out for an hour or more trying to find YOUR phone? Ugh.

This how our night started by the way. Lovely adult beverages.

Anyway, we left after a while and L and I were both hungry so we stopped at a little corner spot. J wanted to go back to the room because by this time it was almost 6am and she had to leave AC early to catch the train back to Philly and go to work. Why she scheduled herself to work the next day I don't know but hey, get your money girl. M on the other hand was just stank about it which pissed me off again. I didn't get anything because I still had pizza from earlier in the room but L looked around for a while before getting something. M was all like 'is it really that serious? do you have to eat right now?' and she went with J back to the room. Again, really? After this girl sat around a hotel for over an hour trying to find your phone you can't even wait 5 or 10 minutes for her to buy a sandwich? Cut the bullshit.

The next morning we went to the hot tub and the pool then we checked out. We went back to the security office at the Borgata but no one turned in the phone. No clue what happened to it but whatever. I was over it from the first little hint of M's attitude and claiming that we didn't care or understand. Fuck your phone dude, seriously.

Like I said, everything was pretty great up until the end. Even the crazy birds which I'm sure we'll all be laughing about for a while. And if you've never had apple dumplings with ice cream you should. It tastes like hot apple pie with ice cream....yummy!

Atlantic City Trip Review

My friend Jo somehow won a free room for a night at Harrah's in Atlantic City so she decided to do a girl's night...yay! I'm not sure how she won it, I think she just filled out her info for one of their rewards cards. Anyway, 5 of us drove down Tuesday night for our little mini vacation and it was....interesting.

A word of advice, if you plan on going clubbing in AC, don't go on a Tuesday. We learned that the hard way. The website for Harrah's showed that they have a nightclub around their pool which looked really fun, we failed to notice that the nightclub isn't open on Tuesdays. And what made it worse was that there was a group of seniors from the College of NJ there on a trip who had I guess reserved or rented out the pool/nightclub for the night. We basic stood their like losers wishing we could go in but it was a private event so the security said we couldn't. After a while we noticed a lot of people leaving so we convinced ourselves that the party sucked anyway.

After finding out that the buffet was $30 per person, we ate the cheapest thing we could which was pizza and subs. Fun times. Then we went back to our room and called a bunch of hotels nearby (Borgata, Trump Marina, etc.) to see if they had nightclubs open and they all said the same thing...No. A few of them told us that our best bet was to go on the main strip and find a bar to go to because most of the clubs are closed on Tuesdays. After sitting around feeling defeated for deciding to come on the ONE night where nothing was open we were finally able to find out that Dusk at Caesar's was open. I think someone from one of the other hotels told us that was the only place she knew of.

Now that we weren't feeling so pathetic we mixed some drinks then headed out on our merry way. Did I mention the fact that it was about 40 some odd degrees and drizzling? No, well it was. It had stopped raining by the time we left but it was still pretty chilly out and our slutty club dresses didn't help the situation. Once we actually got to Caesar's we were still a little nervous about how the night would go because it was pretty deserted but once we actually went down into the club we were pleasantly surprised.

The place was packed (probably because it was the only thing open so people didn't have much of a choice as to where to go) and the music was really good....for the first few hours anyway. The DJ was great, the only problem was that he didn't play the songs long enough which I hate. He would put on a good song then only let it play for like 30 seconds or something ridiculous like that. The really good news is that there were cuties galore in there. And I exchanged numbers with one cutie who just so happens to be from Philly....how convenient!

Anyway, once the music got sucky we went back to our room and went to sleep. Then in the morning these simple broads wanted to go to the pool. *sigh* They set the alarm for 7am when the pool opened so we could go before we left. I kept my ass in bed, fuck a pool. Especially at that time. On a side note, you need ID to get into the pool at Harrah's because it has a bar and kids aren't allowed.

All in all, we ended up having a really nice time. Next time we go to AC we're definitely trying to stay at Caesar's but the Borgata is still my main hotel goal. Someday....
