Today's random Kat fact:
I am not a fan of the mix and match bikini. I really hate it when the top and the bottom don't go together. I mean really, why buy a top with red polka dots then go to an entirely different store and get a blue bottom or something ridiculous like that? I just don't understand the fascination with this new trend. A lot of people seem to think it's cute but I don't. If you ever see me on the beach or by the pool wearing one of those mix and match things, shoot me because I've clearly lost my mind. That is all.
ps: I decided to go with Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man from my previous post about boredom.

Phlegmatic
I just happened to see the definition of the word phlegmatic online and I thought 'hey, that's me!' Ok, maybe it wasn't that exciting but you get the idea. Being the obsessive person I am of course I had to google the word and click on several different links with the definition and yep, that's me alright. Apparently phlegmatic is one of the four temperaments from psychology or whatever. I don't care that much about the details but the other three are sanguine, melancholic and choleric. Whenever I take those stupid facebook quizzes I always get melancholic but my friends always say that's not me and it's really not. If ever there was a perfect description of my personality, this is it (oh, MJ! RIP):
Phlegmatics tend to be self-content and kind. They can be very accepting and affectionate. They may be very receptive and shy and often prefer stability to uncertainty and change. They are very consistent, relaxed, rational, curious, and observant, making them good administrators and diplomats. Unlike the Sanguine personality, they may be more dependable.
A Phlegmatic is neutral - they tend not to actively upset people, but their indifference may frustrate people. They try not to make decisions, and generally go for the status quo. They care about people and harmony.
(ps: it's not that I try not to make decisions, I'm just horribly indecisive)
phleg·mat·ic /flɛgˈmæt
ɪk/
Show Spelled[fleg-mat-ik]
–adjective
Phlegmatic: This is the flat-type. They are easy going, laid back, nonchalant, unexcitable and relaxed. Desiring a peaceful environment above all else.
Choleric
A person who is choleric is a doer. They have a lot of ambition, energy, and passion, and try to instill it in others. They can dominate people of other temperaments, especially phlegmatic types. Many great charismatic military and political figures were cholerics.
Melancholic
A person who is a thoughtful ponderer has a melancholic disposition. Often very kind and considerate, melancholics can be highly creative – as in poetry and art - and can become occupied with the tragedy and cruelty in the world. A melancholic is also often a perfectionist. They are often self-reliant and independent.

(Idk if I would call myself sluggish, but certainly apathetic)

Here are some brief descriptions of the other personality types in case you're interested:
Sanguine
The Sanguine temperament personality is fairly extroverted. People of a sanguine temperament tend to enjoy social gatherings and making new friends. They tend to be creative and often daydream. However, some alone time is crucial for those of this temperament. Sanguine can also mean very sensitive, compassionate and thoughtful. Sanguine personalities generally struggle with following tasks all the way through, are chronically late, and tend to be forgetful and sometimes a little sarcastic. Often, when pursuing a new hobby, interest is lost quickly—when it ceases to be engaging or fun.
Choleric
A person who is choleric is a doer. They have a lot of ambition, energy, and passion, and try to instill it in others. They can dominate people of other temperaments, especially phlegmatic types. Many great charismatic military and political figures were cholerics.

Songs I Like Right Now
Yet another Friday night that I'm sitting home alone so I decided to write a little blog about some songs that are currently stuck in my head. Feel free to share yours too.
Unthinkable by Alicia Keys: I just absolutely LOVE this song Drake definitely did his thing (he wrote it in case you didn't know). But I really don't see the point of the remix. The only difference is that Drake has a verse in the beginning. To me a remix is something almost completely different from the song but not so unrecognizable that you don't know what the original song was. But that's just my opinion.
Why Don't You Love Me by Beyonce: I love Bey but I could've sworn I heard she was taking a break. Yet everywhere I look I see her. And how the hell is she nominated for a BET Award for an album that's what, 2 years old? I mean really, Sweet Dreams for best video? Stop the fuckery. In case you didn't know, her sister Solange wrote this song. (I know I'm bitching right now but I still love me some Bey)
Airplanes by B.O.B. feat. Hayley from Paramore: The first time I heard this song I was riding in a car with my friend on the way to the Jordin Sparks concert and my first thought was 'wtf is this bullshit?' After hearing it a few more times I grew to really like it so of course I had to download it. I don't know much about this B.O.B. person but I do like Paramore so why not?(ps: the youtube video for this one is a little...off)
Romeo & Juliet Soundtrack: You know the one with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes? Yep, that one. They've been playing it a lot on tv lately and my favorite parts are the ones with the singing. The little boy who sings Everybody's Free and When Doves Cry, the part at the party where Mercucio (sp?) I think is dressed in drag singing that young hearts run free song or whatever it's called, then the part where R & J first see each other and that Kissing You song is being sung. I freaking love that movie and the music in it.
Take You Home by Adrienne Bailon: This is a remake to the Lisa Lisa song from the 80's which I also really like but I love Adrienne's version too. I'm ready for her solo album to hurry up and come out already. What's the hold up?! (notice: there are 2 different links; one for the song and one for my other blog post)
That's all for now. DEUCES!!!!
(sn: most of the post titles are links....in case you didn't notice.)

I'm Bored
I mean really, just bored. Now that school is over and I have yet to find a job, I have absolutely no life. Add to that the fact that the few people I actually hang out with around here graduated and are moving back home by the end of the summer I'm REALLY screwed for a social life. I'm planning on going back home for a while this summer so hopefully then I can at least find a little something to do but still. As much as I hated having to wake up at 5 am to be at clinical by 6:30am I'd much rather be doing that than sitting around the house all day every day with nothing to do. It's times like this where I wish I had a ton of friends or different groups of friends to hang with and a booming social life. But being quiet and somewhat shy has seriously limited my number of friends....damn. I guess I could read the stack of books I have sitting on my dresser but I'm not sure where to start. These are my options:
-Push by Sapphire (the book the movie Precious was based on)
-A Time to Kill by John Grisham (I love the movie so I figured I may as well read the book)
-Othello by Shakespeare (I saw the movie 'O' with Mekhi Phifer and Julia Stiles, loved it and again thought I may as well read the book)
-Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man by Steve Harvey (I just think it's necessary)
-The Complete Stories by Flannery O'Connor (We read some of her stuff in high school and I loved it but never got around to reading anything else of hers...so I bought book with pretty much ALL of her writings)
Decisions, decisions....hmm

Random Kat Facts: The Series
After a few twitter posts about random facts about me I decided to make it a somewhat regular occurrence on my blog. I forgot I had another post with the same title not long ago but whatever...it'll work (hopefully). I don't know how regularly I'm gonna do this or even if I'm gonna keep doing it long term but I guess we'll just see what happens.
Today's Kat Fact: I prefer to eat my microwaved popcorn right out of the bag instead of poured into a bowl.
I know it's not much but it's random and it is a fact. DEUCES!!!
